Boiler steel tubes are divided into general boiler tubes and high-pressure boiler tubes according to the high temperature performance they are subjected to. Regardless of general boiler tubes or high-pressure boiler tubes, they can be divided into various steel tubes according to their application requirements. According to the shape of the section, it can be divided into round pipes and special-shaped pipes. The widely used round steel pipes are round steel pipes, but there are also some square, rectangular, semicircular, hexagonal, equilateral triangle, octagonal and other special-shaped steel pipes. The specifications of boiler steel pipes are expressed by external dimensions (such as outer diameter or side length) and wall thickness, and their sizes range from very small capillary tubes to large diameter tubes with a diameter of several meters. Steel pipes can be used in pipelines, thermal equipment, machinery industry, petroleum geological exploration, containers, chemical industry and special purposes. A hydraulic test is required for steel pipes subjected to fluid pressure to verify their pressure resistance.
Production method
Boiler steel pipe is a type of seamless pipe. The manufacturing method is the same as that of seamless pipes, but there are strict requirements on the steel grades used to manufacture steel pipes. According to the temperature of use, it is divided into two types: general boiler tubes and high-pressure boiler tubes.
① Generally, the temperature of boiler tubes is below 450 °C, and domestic tubes are mainly made of No. 10 and No. 20 carbon steel hot-rolled tubes or cold-drawn tubes.
② High-pressure boiler steel pipes are often used in high temperature and high pressure conditions, and the pipes will be oxidized and corroded under the action of high-temperature flue gas and water vapor. The steel pipe is required to have high lasting strength, high oxidation corrosion resistance, and good microstructure stability.
